| Southern Michigan Tool & Machine Inc. was established in 1982 as a Tool & Die facility consisting of 4000 square feet of space. In 1986 an addition was added totaling 8000 square feet. In 1998, as business grew and manufacturing practices changed, Mike Munsell, founder and President, built a new, climate controlled, facility in the Hillsdale Industrial Park. An addition was added in 2001 now totaling 45,000 square feet. The current location can support a 100,000 square foot operation. |
SMT is a privately held and family owned business. We are ISO 9001-2000 certified. As signified
by our logo, SMT has three core technologies; Stamping, Machining, Tooling. We are a full
service, value added, production machining, stamping, and assembly company. Our Tool & Die,
and in house design expertise, compliment our production needs. We are committed in using
only the best and latest technology and automation in our manufacturing. Our management and
engineering teams have nearly 200 years accumulative experience in machining vibration control
dampers, drive line, suspension components and various other parts related to automotive,
truck, railroad, industrial air-conditioning and small engines.
